Clean Energy Technologies Journal (CETJ) journal aims to present information, innovative ideas, research and developments in the fields of clean and sustainable energy and to provide outstanding academic resources for scientists, academics, engineers and industrial professionals.


The journal publishes high-quality original manuscripts, review articles, and letter articles. The scope includes but is not limited to the following aspects:

• Smart Grid and Energy Management
• Waste-to-Energy Technologies
• Energy Logistics, Policies and Strategies
• Renewable Energy
• Economy, Social Impact and Sustainability,
• Hydrogen and Alternative Fuel Technologies
• Energy Storage Technologies
• Energy Modeling, Simulation and Optimization

Clean Energy Technologies Journal (CETJ) journal is a double-blind, peer-reviewed biannually academic journal publishing articles. We welcomes author submission of papers concerning any field of Clean Energy Technologies .

Prospective authors are requested to submit full text manuscript. Manuscripts have to be submitted to CETJ by corresponding author using online web site (www.cetj.yildiz.edu.tr). Regardless of the source of the word-processing tool, only electronic PDF (.pdf) or Word (.doc, .docx, .rtf) files can be submitted through the DergiPark. There is no page limit and required format for initial submission.

All submitted articles should report original, previously unpublished research results, experimental or theoretical. Articles submitted to the CETJ should meet these criteria and should not be under consideration for publication elsewhere. In addition, The authors have to send the signed Copyright Release Form to cetj@yildiz.edu.tr.

Manuscripts are submitted to Clean Energy Technologies Journal with the understanding that the authors have complied with all ethical policies of the journal

Submitted manuscripts are first considered by the Editor-in-Chief and it is decided whether to review. The review process will only begin when all three of the following conditions are met:

• The manuscript fits within the scope of the journal
• The manuscript is likely to make an significant contribution to the field
• The manuscript is written in a clear and legible manner
• In case the manuscript does not meet these conditions, the Editor-in-Chief notifies the Author with an explanation that the manuscript has been rejected

If a manuscript meets the above conditions, the Editor-in-Chief invites an appropriate Editor from the Editorial Board to carry out the review process, including the selection of Reviewers. Editors and Reviewers involved in the review process will disclose any conflicts of interest arising from direct competition, collaboration or other relationships with any of the Authors and will remove themselves from situations where such conflicts preclude objective evaluation.

At least two international Reviewers, who are experts in their field in order to ensure an unbiased evaluation process, will be selected for each manuscript. If necessary, the article may be sent to a third reviewer for further assessment. The peer review process is confidential and identities of reviewers are not disclosed. The reviewers' recommendations determine whether a paper will be accepted / accepted subject to change / subject to resubmission with significant changes / rejected.

After the review process has been completed, the Editor studies the Reviewers’ comments and makes a recommendation that is further evaluated by the Editor-in-Chief. The Editor-in-Chief will notify the Author about the decision, enclosing a copy of the comments received by Reviewers. Reviewed articles are treated confidentially prior to their publication. The average time from submission to first decision is 4 weeks.

The reviewers' recommendations determine whether a paper will be accepted / subject to resubmission with major or minor revisions / rejected. For papers which require changes, the same reviewers will be used to ensure that the quality of the revised paper is acceptable. The Editor-in-Chief reserves the right to reject any manuscripts and to make suggestions and/or modifications prior to publication.

Language editing can be used to ensure that the academic content of your paper is fully understood by journal editors and reviewers, especially if English is not your native language.

All manuscripts submitted to CETJ will be uploaded to iThenticate to check the similarity rate of the paper. The CETJ immediately rejects any articles with a similarity rate greater than 20%.

Clean Energy Technologies Journal (CETJ) is a fully open access journal, and all articles are published under an open access license immediately upon publication. CETJ does not currently charge for open access.

Preparation of Manuscript

Title

A comprehensive and understandable title should be used for the article. The title should start with a capital letter and all other letters should be written in lower case.

Author Information

The first letters of the author's names and surnames should be capitalized and all other letters should be written in lower case. The place where the study was carried out should come after the names of the authors. In order to associate the author and the place where the study was conducted, it should be numbered with a superscript after the surname of the author and before the place where the study was conducted (1, 2, 3, etc.). Corresponding author should be indicated with a " * " symbol after the surname. The address information should include the name of the place where the study is carried out, the city, the zip code and the country. Each author's e-mail address should be given in the order of the author's names on the line after the address information.

Text

Articles must be prepared using a Microsoft Office Word 2010 or higher word processor. The article should be created in a single column, as plainly as possible, on an A4 page using 2.5 cm margins. The page layout should not be changed while the article is being edited. From the line spacing option, the line spacing of the text should be set to 1.5, one line space should be left between paragraphs, and no automatic spacing before or after the paragraphs, and this setting should be set to zero. Section breaks should not be added in page transitions and the entire article should consist of a single section. The text of the article should be written in Times New Roman 12 pt. There is no page limit for the article.

The article should be divided into sections with different main headings and each section heading should be numbered. Section naming should be changed to Bold Font. Numbering should start from 1 for main sections and all main headings (except Abstract, Acknowledgments and References) should continue as 2., 3., .... Secondary headings should continue as 1.1., 1.2., 1.3., ... in accordance with the main section numbering. The first letters of the words of the second headings should begin with a capital letter. The third headings should continue as 1.1.1., 1.1.2., 1.1.3., ... in accordance with the second headings. Only the first letter of the first word of the third headings should be capitalized. Fourth headings should be underlined.

The SI unit system should be used in text, figures and tables.

Equations

The size of the equations should not be larger than the text of the article and should be set to 9 pt. Equations should be positioned in the center, not left or right. Equation numbers should be given right-justified as (1), (2) … in parentheses, and as Eq. 1, Eq. 2 for references in text.

Figures and Pictures

Figures (photos, drawings, diagrams, graphics, maps, etc.) to be added to the article must be in high resolution (300dpi or higher). Accepted image formats; .jpeg, .png, tiff, .bmp, .eps, wmf, .emf or pdf. File sizes should not exceed 1 Mb. Axis labels, figure labels and descriptions (text box, arrows, overlay, etc.) should not be made after the graphic is inserted into the Word document. The figure must be inserted into the Word document as a single item. Figures should not be named with a text box. Handwriting should never be used in figures. If it is mandatory to use a text box, it must be recreated as a figure after the text box is placed. Borderline should not be used in shapes. The use of background / padding should be avoided.

Each figure should be numbered according to its occurrence in the text, and all figures should be given immediately after the relevant paragraph in the text section of the work. It should be ensured that each of the figures is mentioned in the text. The font and size of the figure titles should be Times New Roman 10 pt and should be placed under the figure.

Tables

Each table should be numbered according to its occurrences in the text, and all tables should be given immediately after the relevant paragraph in the text section of the work. It should be ensured that each of the tables is mentioned in the text citing. The font and size of the table titles should be Times New Roman 10 pt and should be placed above the table. Tables should not have bold fonts. Values that need to be specified in bold font should be italicized. No padding/background should be used in tables. Tables should not be given as images.

References

Necessary references should be given in the text, and citations should be given in the REFERENCES in accordance with the journal format. If a citation is required in the Summary, the reference should be given explicitly. References should be numbered in the text with numbers in bracket, for example [1], [3], [5].

The list of references should be numbered according to their occurrence in the text.

If the reference is an article: Author's surname, initials, Full Title of the Article, Name of the Journal (international abbreviations, if any), Volume number (Issue number), first and last page number of the article, year.

If the reference is a book: Author's surname, initials, Title of the book, Volume number, if any, editor, publisher's name, publication number, place of publication, year.

If the reference is a chapter from the book: Surname of the chapter author, initials, Name of the Chapter, Name of the Book from which the Chapter is Taken, Volume number, if any, editor, name of the publisher, place of publication, first and last page number of the chapter, year.

If the reference is the printed thesis: Author's surname, initials, Name of the thesis, type (master, doctorate), university, institute, place of publication, year.

If the reference is a conference paper: Author's surname, initials, Name of the paper, Name of the Conference, the place where it is held, the first and last page number of the paper, the date of the Conference.

If the reference is website: Author or responsible institution. The title of the referenced item. The name of the web page, URL. Release date. Updated date. Date of access.

Advertisement Policy
Clean Energy Technologies Journal does not accept advertisements; the journal is sponsored by the Yildiz Technical University.

Archiving Policy
The content published by the Clean Energy Technologies Journal is electronically preserved by using Internet archive.

Authorship Policy
All statements and opinions expressed in the manuscripts published in the Clean Energy Technologies Journal reflect the views of the author(s).

Each individual listed as an author should fulfill the authorship criteria. The authorship should be based on the following 4 criteria:

Substantial contributions to the conception or design of the work, or the acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of data for the work; AND

Drafting the work or revising it critically for important intellectual content; AND

Final approval of the version to be published; AND

Agreement to be accountable for all aspects of the work in ensuring that questions related to the accuracy or integrity of any part of the work are appropriately investigated and resolved.

In addition to being accountable for their own work, authors should have confidence in the integrity of the contributions of their co-authors and each author should be able to identify which co-authors are responsible for other parts of the work.

All of those designated as authors should meet all four criteria for authorship, and all who meet the four criteria should be identified as authors. Those who provided a contribution but do not meet all four criteria should be recognized separately on the title page and in the Acknowledgements section at the conclusion of the manuscript.

The Clean Energy Technologies Journal requires that corresponding authors submit a signed and scanned version of the authorship contribution form (available for download through) during the initial submission process in order to appropriately indicate and observe authorship rights and to prevent ghost or honorary authorship. Please note that the list of authors on the final manuscript will be presented in the order provided on this form. If the editorial board suspects a case of “gift authorship,” the submission will be rejected without further review. As part of the submission of the manuscript, the corresponding author should also send a short statement declaring that they accept all responsibility for authorship during the submission and review stages of the manuscript.

Complaint and Appeal Policy
Appeal and complaint cases are handled within the scope of COPE guidelines by the Editorial Board of the journal. Appeals should be based on the scientific content of the manuscript. The final decision on the appeal and complaint is made by Editor in Chief. An Ombudsperson or the Ethical Editor is assigned to resolve cases that cannot be resolved internally. Authors should get in contact with the Editor in Chief regarding their appeals and complaints via e-mail at kare@karepb.com

Corrections Policy
If the editors or publisher learn from a third party that a published work contains a material error or inaccuracy, the authors must promptly correct or retract the article or provide the journal editors with evidence of the accuracy of the article.

Ethics Policy
The Editorial Board of the Clean Energy Technologies Journal and the Publisher adheres to the principles of the Council of Science Editors (CSE), the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the International Council of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), the World Association of Medical Editors (WAME), the US National Library of Medicine (NLM), and the European Association of Science Editors (EASE).

If the submitted manuscript does not include ethics committee approval, it will be reviewed according to COPE's guideline (Guidance for Editors: Research, Audit and Service Evaluations). If the study should have ethical approval, authors will be asked to provide ethical approval in order to proceed the review process. If they cannot provide ethical approval, their manuscript will be rejected and also their institutions and when needed, the related bodies in their country will be informed that such studies must have ethics committee approval. If they provide approval, review of the manuscript will continue.

If the study does not need ethics committee approval after the editorial board’s review, the authors will be asked to provide an ethics committee approval or a document given by a related independent committee that indicates the study does not need ethics committee approval according to the research integrity rules in their country. If the authors provide either an approval or a document showing that ethics approval is not needed, the review process can be continued. If the authors cannot provide either documents, the manuscript may be rejected..

Fee Waiver Policy
There is no fee waiver.

Funding Sources Policy
All authors are required to declare what support they received to carry out their research. Declaring funding sources acknowledges funders’ contributions, fulfills funding requirements, and promotes greater transparency in the research process.

Each author must individually declare all sources of funding received for the research submitted to the journal. This information includes the name of granting agencies, grant numbers, and a description of each funder’s role. If the funder has played no role in the research, this must be stated as well.

Authors are not required to provide the complete list of every single grant that supports them if the grant is not related to the research published.

Licenses and Copyright Policy
Authors publishing with the journal retain the copyright to their work licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International license (CC BY-NC 4.0) and grant the Publisher non-exclusive commercial right to publish the work. CC BY-NC 4.0 license permits unrestricted, non-commercial use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided the original work is properly cited.

Open Access Policy
The Clean Energy Technologies Journal supports the Budapest Open Access Initiative statement of principles that promotes free access to research literature. The declaration defines open access to academic literature as free availability on the internet, permitting users to read, record, copy, print, search, or link to the full text, examine them for indexing, use them as data for software or other lawful purposes without financial, legal, or technical barriers. Information sharing represents a public good, and is essential to the advancement of science. Therefore, articles published in this journal are available for use by researchers and other readers without permission from the author or the publisher provided that the author and the original source are cited. The articles in the Clean Energy Technologies Journal are accessible through search engines, websites, blogs, and other digital platforms. Additional details on the Budapest Open Access Initiative and their guidelines are available at https://www.budapestopenaccessinitiative.org.

Open Access Policy is based on rules of Budapest Open Access Initiative the Clean Energy Technologies Journal applies the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0) license to articles we publish. If you submit your paper for publication, you agree to have the CC BY-NC 4.0 license applied to your work. Under this Open Access license, you as the author agree that anyone can copy, distribute or reuse the content of your article for non-commercial purposes for free as long as the author and original source are properly cited. The corresponding author must sign the Creative Commons License Agreement after their articles are accepted.

Open Access Statement
The journal is an open access journal and all content is freely available without charge to the user or his/her institution. Except for commercial purposes, users are allowed to read, download, copy, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles in this journal without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author. This is in accordance with the BOAI definition of open access. The open access articles in the journal are licensed under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0) license.


Peer Review Policy
Only those manuscripts approved by its every individual author and that were not published before in or sent to another journal, are accepted for evaluation.

Submitted manuscripts that pass preliminary control are scanned for plagiarism using iThenticate software. After plagiarism check, the eligible ones are evaluated by Editor-in-Chief for their originality, methodology, the importance of the subject covered and compliance with the journal scope. Editor-in-Chief evaluates manuscripts for their scientific content without regard to ethnic origin, gender, sexual orientation, citizenship, religious belief or political philosophy of the authors and ensures a fair double-blind peer review of the selected manuscripts.

The selected manuscripts are sent to at least two national/international referees for evaluation and publication decision is given by Editor-in-Chief upon modification by the authors in accordance with the referees' claims.

Editor-in-Chief does not allow any conflicts of interest between the authors, editors and reviewers and is responsible for final decision for publication of the manuscripts in the Journal.

Reviewers' judgments must be objective. Reviewers' comments on the following aspects are expected while conducting the review.

Does the manuscript contain new and significant information?
Does the abstract clearly and accurately describe the content of the manuscript?
Is the problem significant and concisely stated?
Are the methods described comprehensively?
Are the interpretations and consclusions justified by the results?
Are adequate references made to other Works in the field?
Is the language acceptable?
Reviewers must ensure that all the information related to submitted manuscripts is kept as confidential and must report to the editor if they are aware of copyright infringement and plagiarism on the author’s side.

A reviewer who feels unqualified to review the topic of a manuscript or knows that its prompt review will be impossible should notify the editor and excuse himself from the review process.

The editor informs the reviewers that the manuscripts are confidential information and that this is a privileged interaction. The reviewers and editorial board cannot discuss the manuscripts with other persons. The anonymity of the referees is important.

Plagiarism Policy
All submissions are screened using similarity detection software at least two times: on submission and after completing revisions. In the event of alleged or suspected research misconduct, e.g., plagiarism, citation manipulation, or data falsification/fabrication, the editorial board will follow and act in accordance with COPE guidelines. Plagiarism, including self-plagiarism, that is identified at any stage will result in rejection of the manuscript.

Publication Charges Policy
The Clean Energy Technologies Journal assesses no submission fees, publication fees, or page charges.

Retraction Policy
The publisher will take all appropriate measures to modify the article in question, in close cooperation with the editors, in cases of alleged or proven scientific misconduct, fraudulent publication, or plagiarism. This includes the prompt publication of an erratum, disclosure, or retraction of the affected work in the most severe case.

Together with the editors, the publisher will take reasonable steps to detect and prevent the publication of articles in which research misconduct occurs and will under no circumstances promote or knowingly allow such abuse to occur.

Withdrawal Policy
The Clean Energy Technologies Journal is committed to providing high quality articles and uphold the publication ethics to advance the intellectual agenda of science. We expect our authors to comply with, best practice in publication ethics as well as in quality of their articles.

Withdrawal of a manuscript will be permitted only for the most compelling and unavoidable reasons. For withdrawal of a manuscript authors need to submit an "Article withdrawal Form", signed by all authors mentioning the reason for withdrawal to the Editorial Office. Authors must not assume that their manuscript has been withdrawn until they have received appropriate notification to this effect from the editorial office.

In a case where a manuscript has taken more than five months’ time for review process, that allows the author to withdraw manuscript.

Manuscript withdrawal penalty: After receiving the Article withdrawal Form, the Clean Energy Technologies Journal Editorial Board will investigate the reason of withdrawal.

If the reason finds to be acceptable, the author is allowed to withdraw the manuscript without any withdrawal penalty. If not the Clean Energy Technologies Journal will not accept any manuscripts from the same author for one year.

Important notes: Manuscripts may be withdrawn at any stage of review and publication process by submitting a request to the editorial office. Manuscript withdrawal will be permitted after submission only for the most compelling and unavoidable reasons.

If the author wants to withdraw a manuscript, the author needs to submit a completed "Article withdrawal Form", signed by all authors of the manuscript stating the reasons for manuscript withdrawal.

The manuscript will not be withdrawn from publication process until a completed, signed form is received by the editorial office. Authors must not assume that their manuscript has been withdrawn until they have received appropriate notification to this effect from the Clean Energy Technologies Journal editorial office.

The Clean Energy Technologies Journal assesses no submission fees, publication fees, or page charges.
